Shamira Turner is a performance-maker, actor and musician with a focus on work that plays with gender expectations, integrates live music, and promotes connection and curiosity.
She is the producer and co-director of experimental duo She Goat, performing in gig-theatre shows DOPPELDÄNGER and THE UNDEFINABLE. In 2020 She Goat adapted THE UNDEFINABLE into an audio-art podcast series and launched CURIOUS HEARTS SONG CLUB – interactive online listening parties.
As a co-founder and associate artist of award-winning Little Bulb, Shamira has co-devised numerous works and toured nationally and internationally as a performer-musician, including in: ORPHEUS, OPERATION GREENFIELD, CROCOSMIA, THE FUTURE and MOUNTAIN MUSIC.
Recent collaborations include as Music Director on Jasmine Johnson’s MORE THAN TWO at the Barbican; deviser/performer on Camden People’s Theatre's HUMAN JAM, working with an onstage community choir; and as a contributing artist on ODDVENT advent calendar for 2020 initiated by Shunt’s Gemma Brockis.
Shamira has collaborated as a performer/deviser with critically-acclaimed companies: 1927, Theatre Ad Infinitum, The Sleeping Trees, Pilot Theatre and Camille Boitel/L’Immédiat.

Shamira makes music on guitar, accordion, harmonica, autoharp and keys – especially keytar, and sings. She doesn’t read musical notation. Shamira lives in London and is represented for acting by Mia Thomson Associates.
